Presentation of Credentials to HM King Willem Alexander – June 14, 2017

Ambassador Venu Rajamony presented his credentials to HM King Willem Alexander on June 14, 2017.  Newly appointed foreign ambassadors are received by the King at Noordeinde Palace shortly after their arrival in the Netherlands. A ceremonial reception of this kind emphasizes that the Netherlands highly values and respects relations with the country in question. A state coach, drawn by two horses, collected the ambassador-designate from the Embassy in The Hague. A guard of honour and a military band were drawn up in the forecourt of Noordeinde Palace. The band played four drum rolls, followed by the Indian national anthem, after which the ambassador inspected the guard of honour. Inside the palace, the presentation of the ambassador’s letters of credence was followed by a short talk with the King.
